The references for this painting are pictures I took as part of a series at one of the recently formed local parks, that used to be a farm land; part of the land was still to be re-purposed and the remainder of the farm buildings were visible in the distance. I started this small painting a few years back and it lingered on my “unfinished” paintings shelf for more than a year. The original image was taken during a very cloudy and dull day and when I picked it to finish for the show I felt that I needed better color to go with the energy of the various tall grasses and wildflowers in the foreground, so I chose to turn the sky into the sunset based on memory of a recent visit to a CSA farm.
